Recipes For Making Pasta

First, you need to gather all of the pasta and noodles you will need for the lasagna. Either in individual packages or in a package in which you already have it pre-cooked. Next, you need to add a few ounces of butter or oil. We prefer margarine for our lasagna recipes because it melts well and allows the cheese to melt, as well as adding a little flavor to the finished lasagna.

Next, you can begin to prepare the egg noodles by washing them very thoroughly in warm water until they are soft and white. Then in a separate bowl add a cup of flour, salt, and water and mix in the noodles to coat them.

Once the egg noodles are coated, place them in a large pot filled with cold water and cook them for three minutes, or until they are al dente. Once done, drain them and set aside to cool. In the same pot, add one cup of olive oil, one teaspoon of garlic powder, two cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, one cup of shredded Parmesan cheese, half cup of shredded Romano cheese, two tablespoons of chopped parsley, one onion, one pound of ground beef and one teaspoon of salt.

Add Your Ingredients

At this point, you can begin to add your ingredients to the pot one at a time. Do the cooking in the final step of the recipe. While stirring, stir in a teaspoon of dried oregano and a teaspoon of dried basil. Heat to boiling temperature and then reduce the heat to simmer and let the pasta cook down. If you add too much sauce at this point, it will make the lasagna soggy.

Once the sauce is thickened, it is ready to be added to the noodles. Add four cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and one cup of shredded Parmesan cheese. If using a recipe that calls for whole milk cheese, add two cups of whole milk and one tablespoon of dried oregano.

When everything is together in the pot and you have turned off the heat. Place the pan in the oven and allow it to cook down, being careful that it does not burn the top of the sauce. Add a pizza stone or baking sheet and place it in the oven until the pasta is cooked through. Be sure that the oven is hot before adding the sauce.

Remove Pasta From Oven And Place Sauce On Top

Once the pasta is cooked, remove it from the oven and place the sauce on the top. Now sprinkle with parmesan cheese and allow it to melt before serving. Now all you have to do is add tomatoes, peppers, fresh herbs, and a little bit of grated Parmesan cheese, to complete the lasagna.

This type of recipe does not call for a lot of salt, just enough to get the sauce started, as well as bring out the flavors of the cheese and your toppings. The recipe makes about four servings, which is perfect for a family dinner and for a quick meal.

To bring out the flavors of the red sauce, add just a touch of red wine or chicken broth. The sauce can also be prepared a day ahead of time and refrigerated in an airtight container, allowing it to defrost overnight.
