Easy Vegan Recipe For Beginners
Vegan people do not consume animal products or animals that have been killed for food. However, beginners find it tough as they don’t know many vegan recipes. Therefore, in this post, we give you a simple vegan recipe.
Capsicum Tofu Roll
- Tofu 100 g
- Capsicum 1 chopped/sliced
- Onion 1 chopped/ sliced
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Mustard oil 1tbsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Tomato sauce 1tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Vegan yogurt 50g
- A pinch of black salt
Method Of Preparation
Add 1 tablespoon of mustard oil in a frying pan and let it heat. Then, add cumin seeds to the oil. When the seeds crackle, add chopped onions and a pinch of black salt. After that, add the turmeric powder and stir the onions.
Add the finely chopped capsicum. Do not cook the capsicum thoroughly as it will lose its texture. Add tofu to the mix and stir it evenly. Add salt according to your taste and cover the pan. Let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Turn off the flame after 5 minutes. Add 50 grams of vegan yogurt and one tablespoon of tomato ketchup. Mix well. You can also add chili flakes and a Pinch of oregano.
You can make tortillas with refined flour or whole wheat flour. Spread a chutney/ sauce of your choice on the tortilla.
Put the mixture of the roll in the center of the tortilla and top it up with chopped onions.
Roll the tortilla and grill it onto a pan. You can also have it just like that. You can wrap the roll in aluminum foil and keep it in the fridge for days.
This tofu capsicum roll is high in protein and is super filling. It is healthy and very easy to prepare, using very basic ingredients. Enjoy with any chutney or sauce of your choice. It can be served either hot or chilled.
